BIOS Connector: used to reset some of the internal stuff of the computer.
USB (Universal Serial Bus): most famous peripheral connection.
Network Cable Connections: for example RJ-45 for wired networks.
Sound Connectors: for speaker systems (there are even fiber optic for advanced systems)
Video Connections:
1. DVI (Digital Visual Interface): old type of connection
2. DisplayPort: very popular
3. HDMI (High.Definition Multimedia Interface): used in TVs
Power Connection: energy for the computer to work

mini-DIN (also known as PS/2): used for old keyboards and mice, they were replaced by USB
parallel port (also known as LPT port): one of the oldest ports, used only for printers //purple
serial port: the oldest port ever //dark green
Video Connections:
1. VGA (Video Graphics Array): used for old monitors
2. DVI (Digital Visual Interface): old type of connection
3. Analog Style Connector (also known as a S-Video Connector) //black circle

Sound Connectors: only 3 connectors

Optical Media (CD, DVD and Blu-ray are currently the most common forms of optical media devices.)

Make sure you can recognize all the rear desktop connections, including USB, network, power, video and audio.
Be familiar with common front desktop connections.
Make sure you can identify common connections on laptops.
